KENDAL– Mathematics Department Diponegoro Universitycontinues to seek to make a difference in society, particularly via education and research. The community service program at MAN Kendal is one way to make a difference. The workshop, which took place on April 13th, 2023, was designed to help MANKendal students prepare for OPSI and MYRES 2023 by offering knowledge and abilities in research preparation in the field of mathematics.
To accomplish this goal, one of the dedicated teams from Mathematics DepartmentDiponegoro University, comprised of three mathematics lecturers, namely Hafidh Khoerul Fata S.Sc., M.Si., Nurcahya Yulian Ashar S.Si., M.Sc., and Dr. Moch FandiAnsori, held a workshop on the preparation of research in the field of mathematics. They provide information on many elements of research, such as identifying research subjects, issue formulation, and drafting research reports. Participants in the workshop, particularly MAN Kendal students, were extremely pleased about taking part in this activity because they found the content offered was highly valuable and applicable in completing their research.
In addition to providing comprehensive and high-quality material, the Department of Mathematics at Universitas Diponegoro provides opportunities for students and faculty to discuss and ask questions about research needs. The discussion was very beneficial because the participants were able to gain knowledge and insight into mathematical research. Aside from that, the discussion allows participants to solicit feedback from the Department of Mathematics at the University of Diponegoro in order to improve the quality of their research.
It is hoped that the community outreach initiative would have a positive impact on MAN Kendal employees, particularly in terms of preparing for OPSI and MYRES 2023. Aside from that, the program is expected to help students improve their math skills and advance them in the field of research. As a result, it is expected that more qualified people will be hired in the future.
Community service initiatives carried out by Mathematics Department Diponegoro Universityare also part of higher education’s attempts to improve education quality in Indonesia. Universities can make a significant contribution to society by participating in community service activities. This type of community work can also serve to build the link between colleges and the community.
