Graph Theory to Determine the Fastest Route from Students’ Homes to School”

The Community Service Team from the Mathematics Department has held Community Service activities at SDN O2 Pegulon, Kendal by presenting material “Graph Theory to Determine the Fastest Route from Students’ Homes to School”. The Community Service Team chaired by Mrs. Nikken Prima Puspita S.Si, M.Sc and consisting of Mrs. Lucia Ratnasari S.Sc, M.Sc, Mrs. Ratna Herdiana M.Sc, Ph.D and several students from the KBK Algebra and Combinatorics Team was successful attracted the attention and enthusiasm of grade 5 students at SDN 02 Pegulon, Kendal.

During the activity, it was clear that the students were very active in asking questions and discussing when following the material regarding determining the fastest route from student’s house to school using Graph Theory, so that the class atmosphere became very interactive. What’s more, when the Logic Sharpening Game session in the Schoolyard started, they were very enthusiastic and happy.

At the end of the event, the Principal of SDN 02 Pegulon Kendal, Mr. Surono, hopes that this activity can be sustainable and will be delivered in other classes. He also hopes that the Community Service Team, especially from the Algebra & Combinatorics Team, can carry out Community Service activities again on different topics.
