The Department of Mathematics, Faculty of Science and Mathematics, Diponegoro University successfully organized the SEAMS School 2024, held from July 1–9, 2024. The program focused on the topic “Derivations of Rings and Modules with Applications.” SEAMS School 2024 was supported by the Centre International de Mathématiques Pures et Appliquées (CIMPA), France, and the South East Asian Mathematical Society (SEAMS). The event was also held in collaboration with Universitas Gadjah Mada, Universitas Lampung, Universitas Khairun-Ternate, and Aligarh Muslim University, India. An Algebra and Combinatorics research team was formed during the school.
The invited speakers for SEAMS School 2024 included:

- Dr. Ida Kurnia Waliyanti (Universitas Khairun, Indonesia)
The program welcomed 55 participants from five countries: Indonesia, India, the Philippines, Cambodia, and Bangladesh.
The first day of SEAMS School 2024, held on July 1st, began with an opening ceremony. Dr. Nikken Prima Puspita, M.Si., Chair of SEAMS School 2024, delivered a report on the program to the audience. During the ceremony, participants listened to opening remarks from Dr. I Gede Adhitya Wisnu Wardhana (Chair of the Indonesian Algebra Society), Prof. Dr. Indah Emilia Wijayanti (President of the Indonesian Mathematical Society), and Prof. Kusworo Adi (Dean of the Faculty of Science and Mathematics). Attendees also viewed video messages from Prof. Dr. Detiena Intan Muchtadi (President of SEAMS) and Prof. Christophe Ritzenthaler (Director of CIMPA, France). The formal session concluded with the official opening of SEAMS School 2024 by Vice Rector Wijayanto, S.IP., M.Si., Ph.D.
The primary objective of SEAMS School 2024 was to provide a comprehensive introduction to derivations in ring and module theory. The program covered a wide range of topics, including the foundations of rings and modules, classification of derivations, derivations in modules, general derivations in rings and modules, higher-order derivations, and their applications. The organizers of SEAMS School 2024 hoped that participants would continue to develop their knowledge both theoretically and practically, in ways that benefit society.
